Description
In January 2011, New York City Investment Fund provided debt financing to Scratch Music Group, Inc. The financing was part of a larger Series A Round led by Contour Venture Partners, with participation from Square 1 Bank and angel investors Jason Finger and Todd Arky, of SeamlessWeb, and Jacob Pechenik, co-founder and CEO of YellowJacket Software. NYCIF's loan enables Scratch Music Group to expand its on-line, marketing and operational capacity and supports the Fund’s goal of generating job opportunities for a diverse pool of workers in New York City.

Based in Manhattan, Scratch Music Group is a music and technology company that has built the largest national team of screened and vetted marquee disc jockeys, (700+ “DJs”), which it utilizes for weddings, corporate events, retail in-store and resort/hotel partnerships. Scratch Music Group works closely with leading brands including MTV, Bloomingdales, ESPN, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Pepsi, Sandals & Beaches Resorts, and W Hotels to build brand affinity and drive traffic. The company provides a turnkey service that includes the highest quality professional DJs coupled with audio equipment packages, invoicing, quality assurance and high-touch account management.  The company also runs the Scratch DJ Academy – the world’s first and leading DJ and music production learning center co-developed with Jam Master Jay of Run DMC, with locations in NYC, Miami, and Los Angeles and on a number of cruise lines and beach resorts. Scratch Music Group has provided DJs for over 15,000 events and entertained over six million guests.
